My teacher is a high school student. 私の先生は高校生。

I'm taking an ESL class at Dallas public library. The teachers consist of volunteer staffs, and the fee for the lesson is free. My teacher is a high school student. He always give nice/fun lessons to us (The students in my class are four Mexican and one Japanese right now.).

By the way, this volunteer system is really excellent. Everyone can get benefits like these:

(1) "Students" can receive lectures for free

(2) "Volunteers" can get experience or training

(3) "Library" can offer such public services with minimum money

I'm enjoying this class every time, but recently I have felt guilty to take such a nice program for free.. So, I have started to think that I should return something helpful for the library/Dallas city/the US in the future. That is:

(4) Some people may do something for the organization where he/she received volunteer someday

In (1)-(4), I can't find any defects, and I can only say this system is wonderful. In my country, I don't think such a nice system is working. If I have chances in the future, I want to spread this idea there.

毎週、ダラス市の公共図書館で行われている英会話クラス（ESL class）に参加しています。先生たちは無給のボランティア。我々の授業料は無料です。ぼくの先生は高校生で、30歳以上の生徒5人（メキシコ人4人と日本人1人）を相手に、彼は毎回堂々と楽しい授業をしてくれます。

ところで、この図書館のボランティア・システムがとても素晴らしい。というのも、

(1) 「我々生徒」は無料でサービスを受けられる。

(2) 「ボランティアの先生たち」は他では得られない経験やトレーニングを積める。

(3) 「図書館」は最少限のお金で市民サービスを提供できる。

ただ最近になって、無料で授業を受けれるのはうれしいけど、何だか与えられてばかりで申し訳ない気持ちになってきました。自分も何かしたい…。ということで、

(4) ボランティアを受けた人の一部は、将来そこに何かを恩返しするかもしれない

(1)-(4)、誰もが得をするいいことづくめなシステム。これは図書館だけでなく、病院や老人ホーム、保健所などいろいろなところで定着しているらしいです。アメリカの素晴らしい面のひとつです。
